D3IP Community Masterclass Series Returns to Support SMEs with PR

The D3IP Community masterclass series is returning with a session on how to utilise the power of PR to support SMEs who might not have the skills to utilise it.

From Innovation to Influence: An Introduction to PR is being held in collaboration with Liberty Communications, an award-winning agency with significant experience in supporting defence innovation SMEs & tech start-ups.

Exclusive to the D3IP Community, it will be a practical masterclass for founders and small teams who need to turn complex tech into clear, compelling stories the media wants to cover.

If you’re working in defence, dual‑use, or frontier tech, you already know credibility and trust are everything. This hands‑on session demystifies public relations and shows you exactly how to plan, pitch and earn coverage without big‑agency budgets.

You’ll learn how journalists choose stories, how to frame your innovation for non‑technical audiences, and how to use PR to grow and succeed. You’ll leave with a practical PR plan, ready‑to‑use templates, and an understanding of key topics (how PR works in practice, core tools and channels, the rise of LLMs, crisis comms & media training).

From Innovation to Influence: An Introduction to PR will be take place at the BattleLab, Dorset Innovation Park on Thursday, April 23rd (13:00-16:00).

The masterclass series is exclusive to the D3IP Community – a collaboration network of industry partners (from micro-entities and SMEs to larger organisations), academia and specialist subject matter experts, policy and regulatory bodies, and others.
